Several Brazilian firms have boosted their top ranks with the addition of new partners in the corporate, tax and litigation departments through a merger, lateral hire and promotions.
Belo Horizonte-founded full-service firm Fialho Salles Advogados strengthened its presence in São Paulo and added two partners through the absorption of tax boutique Tranchesi Ortiz e Andrade Advocacia.
Marcos Ortiz, 40, and Paulo Andrade, 39, joined the tax practice of Fialho Salles’ existing office, which assists clients on tax planning, litigation and consultancy services, on 3 April. Fialho Salles established its office in São Paulo in 2011 and moved into new premises last year.
Fellow mineiro firm Bicalho & Associados also boosted its partnership with the addition of litigation partner Camila Fabris Barbosa, 27, from Ferreira & Chagas. She joined Bicalho & Associados on 13 March.
Two São Paulo-based firms also increased their top ranks. Corporate, tax, litigation and bankruptcy-focused firm Mello e Rached Advogados promoted corporate, M&A and commercial contracts lawyer Fernanda C B S Passos to partner on 4 April, and tax-focused firm Velloza & Girotto Advogados Associados promoted Leandro Cabral e Silva, 34, to partner in the tax practice on 15 March.
