Brazil’s Velloza, Girotto e Lindenbojm Advogados Associados SC has advised Swedish clothing company GANT in its acquisition of half the production quotas held by Delveste do Brasil Comércio de Vestuário.
The deal closed on 31 March for an undisclosed sum with Switzerland’s Maus Frères, which held 95.6 per cent of shares in Gant Company AB at the start of 2008, drawing upon in-house counsel from Maus Frères International Services.
Delveste was advised by Andersen Ballão Advocacia.
Velloza Girotto advised GANT on due diligence and the negotiation of agreements.
Other recent clients include Banco do Brasil, which it advised on the US$2.35 billion emergency acquisition of a 50 per cent stake in Banco Votorantim, and the controlling shareholder of Brazil’s Arezzo, who turned to the firm during the shoe retailer’s US$340 million IPO in February.
