Brazilian firm Velloza & Girotto Advogados Associados has bolstered its civil litigation and arbitration practice with the promotion of Carla Quintas to partner.

The promotion came into effect on 10 June. Quintas, 38, has been with the firm since 2005 and helps to coordinate civil disputes. She also acts in the advisory area, preparing legal opinions, as well as assisting with civil and procedural issues in contract negotiations.

Quintas explains that her promotion is the result of the fact that the arbitration, civil and legal advice practice has “grown strongly” in recent years, and the firm reached the decision that it required a partner to take charge of that specific section of the disputes department. “I was chosen because of my work in the area,” she says.
